This is an update (March 10, 2010). The main area affected is between Santiago and Temuco in the south (click to see map), mainly focused on the coast. The infrastructure in Santiago is fine and no hotel has been seriously damaged. The rest of the areas out of epicenter, the far north and south, have not been affected by the earthquake.   Officials in Chile report Patagonia (Torres del Paine etc.), Easter Island, Robinson Crusoe Island, Vina Del Mar, Valparaiso and other key tourism attractions as well as tourism infrastructure suffered little or no damage from the earthquake. The epicenter of the massive quake was near the central southern city of Concepción. Santiago's International and domestic airport (Pudahuel) continues to re-establish service, almost all flights have been reestablished. There are still some problems with communications all over Chile.
